In the world of modern politics, few figures are as polarizing as Justin Trudeau and Donald Trump. Contrary to what the Liberals try to perpetuate, the Trump administration despises Trudeau and Freeland, both of which are useless. There is a stark difference in ideologies and leadership ideals, these two leaders embody vastly contradicting approaches for their respective nations. Hypothetically, Trump has a major advantage. his brash, populist approach and his ability to engage the average citizen, give him a decisive edge over Trudeau's radical, progressive, and ego driven policies. Please see below, why Trudeau is overmatched by the Trump administration.
1) Trump has developed a command of the media and messaging. Trump has demonstrated an unmatched ability to command and dominate media cycles. It is his straightforward rhetoric that resonates with his huge base. He captures headlines globally and demonstrates a desire to truly make life for Americans better by putting America first. It is this nationalist approach that Canadians are dying for. On the other hand, Trudeau has demonstrated nothing but an aspiration to fuel his enormous ego via radical progressive policies which Canadians have grown extremely tired with. There is no chance, with Trump smelling weakness in the Canadian Liberal party, that Trudeau can compete with Trump's loyal and high-energy populist approach.
2) The vastly different approach to governance is one of the main reasons Trump resonates with Americans while Justin projects an image of moral superiority and representative of the global liberal elites. Trump has solidified himself as the "outsider", framing himself as the voice of the people against political elites. It is simple, based on Trudeau's record of jet setting, extreme progressive agendas, and support of extremist political and religious groups, that Trump can paint Trudeau as soft, weak, incompetent, and radically progressive. Trump resonates with the middle class while Trudeau flaunts his position as Canada's authoritarian and moral leader.
3) The economic records of Trudeau vs Trump speak for themselves. Trump's policies are heavily focused on deregulation, tax cuts, and economic nationalism, which unsurprisingly, appealed to a wide number of voters. Trump's economic policies were an unbridled success, and such initiatives such as tariffs, cutting illegal immigration support to utilize those funds to help veterans, and putting the American people first, has resonated with the American population. Trudeau, on the other hand, has done nothing for the Canadian people except denying them home ownership, taxing the people to death, touting ludicrous progressive programs which negatively impact Canadians, inciting a fractured and divided Canada with his obsession with extremist groups in the name of "inclusivity", and obstructing oil and gas expansion, have left Canadians wanting immediate change.
4) Trump has it right, he touts nationalist and identity politics which have effectively rallied Americans around themes of patriotism and traditional values. The tiny percentage of LGBTQ, trans, and DEI proponents for some reason, have the biggest voice in Canada. The vast majority of Canadians do not support these radical agendas. Everyone should be able to live their lives as they see fit, but pushing these ideals on Canadians is not productive. If you question insane policies, such as biological men in women's change rooms and restrooms, you are immediately labeled as homophobic, transphobic, fascist, or any other denigrating terms the left chooses to hurl at you. Canadians are fed up with a small minority dictating Canadian culture and Trudeau must go so we can elect a leader truly invested in a better Canada that works for Canadians.
5) A Trump vs Trudeau interaction sits clearly in Trump's favor. Trump's dominant, confrontational, and aggressive style of dialogue puts his opponents on the defensive. Trudeau, on the other hand, can barely string a sentence together and his pathetically weak and redundant talking points in interviews and especially in question period, just demonstrates his incompetency and lack of touch with Canadian citizens.
6) The polarized environment we find ourselves in, is a major downfall for Trudeau, as Canadians rightly place the blame squarely on him. Justin cannot justify what is happening in Canada, with riots, protests, and insurrection. Trump on the other hand, thrives in a polarized political environment. He is an expert at galvanizing his base and discrediting opponents, with which Trudeau is not difficult. Trudeau is woefully unprepared to handle an opponent such as Trump.
In conclusion, it is clear that Justin Trudeau has been ill-equipped to govern a nation. His radical progressive policies have contributed to a monstrous amount of national debt, an increased rate of inflation due to gross fiscal mismanagement, and an energy sector bogged down in so much red tape, has resulted in Canada unable to utilize and monetize our greatest natural resources. This is largely due to his fantasy land where we use no oil and gas, and the planet is saved. However, every sane Canadian knows this a fallacy. We could cut emissions to zero and would have basically no effect on carbon emissions. As well, under Trudeau's leadership, Canada has become a joke as far as international standing and reputation are concerned. Do you see reputable leaders of great nations taking selfies with tweens at a Taylor Swift concert, proudly displaying their bracelets? Canada is screaming for a responsible and nationally focused leader who conducts himself as a true patriot. It is time for a change, It is time we embrace healthy nationalism in order to put Canada first. Unite and we can be great again as well!
